Dr. Jansen Richins is an exceptionally accomplished periodontist and dental implant surgeon passionate about providing top-quality care to his patients. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Utah, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Minor in Chemistry, he furthered his education by obtaining his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland.
Upon completing his degree, Dr. Richins relocated to Oklahoma City to pursue his interest in periodontics and implantology at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. During his three-year residency, Dr. Richins completed his master's degree and developed deep expertise in the field. Dr. Richins' commitment to professional excellence is evident by his board certification in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery, as well as his diplomate status with the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Weinstein is an exceptionally accomplished periodontist specializing in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. His educational achievements include a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Columbia University, magna cum laude, and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Weinstein also completed two years of General Practice Residency at the Manhattan and Bronx Veterans Affairs hospitals, where he served as the chief resident and completed his periodontal residency at the University of Washington (go Huskies!). His passion for knowledge and contribution to the field of Periodontology is evident in his research work, for which he has received several accolades, including the prestigious Balint Orban Memorial Award and the Volpe Prize. His research has been presented at the American Academy of Periodontology, and his surgical expertise has been featured in the textbook, "Soft Tissue Management: The Restorative Perspective."
Dr. Weinstein is an affiliate faculty member at the University of Washington, where he teaches Periodontics and has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Periodontology, the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Clinical Advances in Periodontology, and Periodontology 2000.
Dr. Kaminsky is an exceptionally accomplished periodontist and dental implant specialist, originally from Massachusetts. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and minored in American Sign Language. From there she completed her Postbaccalaureate at Harvard University and DMD degree at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Kaminsky had the opportunity to move to the PNW for the prestigious General Practice Residency program at Swedish Medical Center, here in Seattle. It was during this program that she realized her passion for specialized and complex dental care. She earned her Certificate in Periodontology and Masters in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and was selected as a finalist for the Gerald M. Kramer Award by the American Academy of Periodontology.
Outside of the office, Dr. Kaminsky enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest slopes and trails with her wife and their Labrador retriever mix, Otis.
Dr. Nguyen is an exceptional periodontist who is passionate and committed to providing exceptional oral health care to patients. After Graduating Summa Cum Laude from East Carolina University with a dual major in Biology and Chemistry, Dr. Nguyen continued on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry.
Post-graduation, Dr. Nguyen completed a 1 year General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Portland Veterans Affairs Hospital, gaining valuable experience and proficiency in various aspects of general dentistry. As a National Health Service Corps Scholar, Dr. Nguyen honed his skills and developed a deep sense of responsibility toward community health and access to quality dental care.
Driven by a desire for specialization, Dr. Nguyen continued his training at the University of Washington. This advanced training has equipped Dr. Nguyen with the knowledge and skills to address complex periodontal issues and provide specialized care to patients.
Dr. Lakshmi Boyapati is an exceptionally accomplished periodontist and dental implant surgeon with impressive academic qualifications and professional experience. She earned her B.D.S. dental degree from the prestigious University of Sydney in her native Australia and went on to complete her Master of Science in Periodontics from the esteemed University of Michigan graduate program. Additionally, she obtained a certificate in advanced Implant Dentistry from the Misch Institute at Michigan and was selected for a one-year ITI Implant Scholarship to the University of Bern in Switzerland to further her advanced training.
She taught at the University of Illinois in Chicago and worked in private practice before relocating with her family to the Pacific Northwest.

Dr. Weinstein performed gum grafting surgery with great results! I was given plenty of options of medication choices and whether to do all teeth at once or in stages. Surgery went great and everything looks good for long term success. Advanced Perio was the place recommended by my general dentist and I’m happy I went with their recommendation.

Ultimately, my procedure ended up costing roughly the same as a different in-network periodontist quoted me, and I am confident that I received a much higher level of care.

Thankfully, the pain has resolved, but I'm left with two differently shaped and unnaturally thick gums, which has shattered my self-confidence. These are my two front teeth and look odd now that the gums are different shapes.
I tried speaking with Dr. Weinstein about it multiple times, and he claimed that my gums were different shapes to begin with and that this was an excellent outcome. I have photos, though, where my gums were evenly shaped before the recession. I also have visible scarring in the gum tissue, further making me feel self-conscious.

Had gum grafts done for 5 teeth and it went super well! I was really nervous beforehand but Dr Weinstein and Megan (assistant) made me feel very comfortable and did a great job on the procedure. The grafts healed within 2 weeks and look great. Would definitely recommend for anyone with dental anxiety or worried about gum recession.
My experience at advanced perio was phenomenal! From the hygiene coordinator Gina, to the welcoming front desk Anj, Katrina, and Judah, to the amazing and thorough clinic staff Dr. kaminsky and hygienist Katie. If I could give 10 stars I would! Hands down the best dental office.
Unfortunately this visit triggered some past medical trauma for me. They are not aware of that because I went into freeze mode and kept it hidden. I know it was not intentional, and they did their best to be friendly and professional. I had to have photos of my entire mouth taken. The procedure was awkward and uncomfortable, which the person doing it acknowledged. At one point a mirror that was too large for my mouth was inserted into my mouth. I was obviously uncomfortable. The person doing it said, "I'm sorry, that mirror is too big!!" and I said, "Oh, that's terrible, you'd think they'd make smaller mirrors, for different sized mouths, right?!" (I was trying to be nice and let them off the hook). They replied, "oh, yeah, they do...I just didn't have that one ready to use right now." In my head, I'm thinking, so you do have smaller mirrors but you chose to jam that one into my mouth instead? To add insult to injury, they then said, "Your mouth is so small!" and that was the triggering part (blaming ME for my discomfort). How about saying something like, "let me try and find a piece of equipment that will work better for you, OK?" instead.
I was recently seen by Dr. Nguyen at Advanced Perio for removal of a failing dental implant. He and the AP staff were absolutely first-rate. Friendly, caring and highly skilled professionals, and amazingly adept at their work. What could have been a traumatic, painful ordeal turned out to be quite a smooth procedure. And recovery has been a breeze. Highly recommended!
My husband was referred here by his dentist. He went here just for an exam. The office told him that the exam would be covered 100% -80%. Turns out the exam was not covered. They were not upfront about the fact that they are out of network with all insurance companies. The insurance only covered $40 for a simple exam. This place is not upfront and honest about their policies and when I asked they told me it’s all written on their website. I don’t care if it’s written on the website or now they need to let people know ahead of time they are out of network. I’m very disappointed in this place and my husband won’t be going back here.
I had a gum graft at Advanced Perio this summer. Dr. Kaminsky and Kira made me feel so comfortable during the procedure and at my follow ups. You can't even see the graft now that it has healed. Super knowledgeable team who doesn't try to upsell you - I had a great experience.
They really need to disclose their predatory billing practices PRIOR to scheduling or, at the very least, prior the conducting the evaluation that they charge for. This is such a dishonest way to operate. Now, I'll be getting a bill for a completely pointless evaluation and am stuck trying to find a new perio who will certainly require their own evaluation before starting treatment so my treatment has just been set back months. I'll be letting my dentist know to stop referring patients here!

My dentist, Dr. Sekijima, referred me to Dr. Boyapati for tooth resorption. (She told me how great Dr. Boyapati is and I trust anything Dr. Sekijima tells me because she’s an amazing dentist.) Dr. Boyapati and staff exceeded expectations! I had an extraction & socket graft, as well as a gum graft and everything went so smoothly! She’s a great doctor, so reassuring, and one of the kindest people I’ve ever met.

Personally, I opted for oral sedation, which requires you to have someone drive you to and from the appointment, but otherwise was easy as can be. I was completely numb and totally blissed out the entire time, and never experienced any real pain from the procedure.

Completely PAINLESS! I am truly amazed at this clinic's ability to perform aggressive dental surgeries without there being any pain. Over the years I have had a root canal, an implant, and two major extractions in this clinic and every time is shockingly pain free. I cannot recommend this place enough.
