About Dr. O'neal

Dr. O'neal ROBERT B. O'NEAL, D.M.D, and M.S.: In addition to his successful specialty practice of Periodontics, Dr. O'Neal is the Director of the Graduate Program in Periodontics at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. His present positions are the culmination of a distinguished career of service to his patients and his profession.

Dr. O'Neal received his dental education at the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine 1967-71and his specialty training in Periodontics from George Washington University and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC 1975-77.

He is one of a select group in Seattle who is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. O'Neal is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Washington State Society of Periodontology, and Seattle King County Dental Society.

He is presently a consultant, to the American Dental Association, Commission on Dental Accreditation, a member of the AAP subcommittee on Research Submissions, a member of the SKCDS Ethics committee, and a consultant to the General Practice Residency at Fort Lewis Washington and Seattle Veterans Hospital. He has served as the Consultant in Periodontics to the U.S. Army Surgeon General.

A respected author of over thirty publications, he has lectured nationally and internationally. His clinical and research interests are in the regeneration of both hard and soft tissues and implant therapy. His other interest include biking, hiking, and cross country skiing.
